Baby Lust: A Navy SEAL Romance (A Man Who Knows What He Wants #1) Page 2

I grabbed his mask, yanked it off, and pulled it over my head. “Call 911,” I said. “I’ll be right back.” I grabbed his bag and threw some papers inside.

I reached for his gun and darted through the front door towards the car. The man had been blocked from the takedown, but must have realized something wasn’t right. I was too big and fast compared to his lame friend that had gone in. He floored the gas before I could dive through the window.

I squared myself and pointed at his back left tire. We were in a vast strip mall with nothing but forest after the road. I had a clear shot without endangering anyone. I pulled. The back left tire exploded into a huge blow out and the car dipped. I aimed again and took out a second tire. I pursued on foot, ditching the mask as I ran.

The door slowly opened as the dazed man attempted to roll out. He must have hit his head on the steering wheel. I grabbed him by the wrists and pressed his face into the cold concrete. I pulled out the plastic cuffs I always carry in civilian life and handcuffed him. I ran back inside to find the girls still a bit shaken, but everyone OK.

“Should we throw him in the vault? In case he wakes up?”

“If he wakes up, I’ll be right here. And facing me is a lot worse than being locked up.”

  CHAPTER 3

  Noah

It was a little after midnight when the police finished taking statements. They had arrived quickly and secured the scene.

“Well, that was exciting,” Mia said.

“The excitement’s only getting started,” I said.

Mia blushed, and her innocence brought my arousal right back.

“Don’t you think it’s getting late?”

“You’re working second shift all week?”

  “Yes.”

  “Then it’s not.”

A smile came from her lips. Damn she looked so cute and beautiful at the same time. “But what about you? Don’t you have things to do?”

  “Be here with you.”

“I’ll be okay, Noah. The police have things under control now. I don’t need any protection.”

“You may not need any protection, but I want to protect you.” She just stared into my eyes and smiled.

“Thank you,” she said as she leaned forward and kissed me on the cheek.

Damn, I felt my cock twitch and my arm shake. The electricity of her mouth against my skin was the switch that turned me on like a million watts. I felt goose bumps.

  “You’re warm.”

“Must be all the running around.”

“Okay, Mr. Hero. What did you have in mind?”

“Top of the hill, just out of town.”

  “You mean make out point?”

“It’s quiet, secluded, and a good place to talk…not just to make out.” Mia raised an eyebrow at me. “I’ll drop you off at home. Scout’s honor.”

  “Don’t you mean SEALs honor?”

  I smiled.

“Because you’re definitely not a boy, you are one heck of a man. And a man I’d happily go anywhere with.”

  CHAPTER 4

  Mia

Noah helped me down off his motorcycle. The ride up to the top of the hill was incredible. It felt like an amusement park ride, and all the while I had my arms wrapped around his incredibly muscular middle.

He had driven slow. I noticed that and appreciated it. There were so many turns that kept it was exciting, but it would have been exciting watching paint dry if I was doing it with him.

He stepped over to a bench and motioned for me to join him. I came over and sat beside him. He took my helmet so I didn’t have to hold it while we talked about whatever he had in mind.

  “Nice night.”

  “It sure is,” I said.

“Beautiful night to be alive. To feel alive.”

Ut oh. Maybe that’s what this was about. Maybe he had had a close call on a mission and it had changed his perspective on things. Regardless, I was dying to know.

  “Isn’t every night?”

“There’s a big difference,” he said.

  “And what determines that?”

He had been looking out at the view, but then his head slowly turned until his eyes met mine. “Depends on who you spend your nights with.”

Oh my God! My mind shot to all the naughty things I had fantasized about. Riding him. Him owning me in the bedroom. All the things I wished for, but would never happen. He wouldn’t make a move on his best friend’s little sister. It was too cliché, and they worked together. Protected our country together. It would jeopardize more than just us. But my mind was filling in the blanks too quickly. He hadn’t even technically expressed an interest.

  “It does,” I said.

“Are you enjoying your night so far?”

“Aside from the whole guy with the gun trying to rob an accounting shop…yes.” I wanted to lighten the mood a little. The tension was getting too thick.

“I’m serious. Are you enjoying this moment?”

  “Of course I am.”

“Then let’s make it even more enjoyable.”

He leaned towards me and my body froze. I felt his lips crash into mine as his fingers made their way through the back of my hair, pressing me into him.

I breathed out hard, and kissed him back. Every nerve in my body fired. Every nerve. I could feel my pussy aching for him. My first thought was to jump on top of him and kiss him as passionately as he had taken me.

His mouth felt so good. His tongue swirled in my mouth finding each and every corner. His hands were rough and masculine. His grip was strong. I could feel him owning me. He was totally in control. There was nothing to do but to submit. Submit to him, and to my own desires.

And then, for some reason, that darn thing known as logic kicked in. “We shouldn’t do this.” I pulled away and stood. “I’ll call a cab. You don’t have to take me back.”

“Mia,” he said. “Are you okay?”

“Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, it’s just that, well with the excitement at work and all. And thank you for taking care of that. Really. I appreciate it, you know.”

He reached up and put a finger to my lips to silence me.

“It’s okay, but you’re not calling a cab. I’ll take you back to your car, or take you home. Your choice.”

I thought about it for a second. “Really, it’s okay, I can call a—”

He grabbed my wrist and slowly lowered it down, taking the phone I had in my hand with it.”

“You are not calling a cab. I am taking you wherever you want to go. I’m making sure you get there safe and sound. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Understand?”

He was taking charge, and I liked it. I was glad he didn’t back down, but come on…did I ever expect that was an option from the kind of man he was? Not hardly.

  “Yes.”

  “Yes, what?”

  “Yes, I understand.”

Yes I understand that you have a huge cock and you want to put it in my as much as I want you to.

Yes I understand that we could be naked and fucking in about two minutes flat right here, and right now.

Yes I understand that we would make beautiful babies together and you could protect me and love me forever and I’d be the luckiest girl on the face of the earth.

  What had gotten into me?

I was getting older, inching towards thirty now, and I couldn’t lie to myself…the baby lust was getting stronger and stronger. My biggest problems were my desire for exactly no guys in the area where I lived, and my total desire for one guy who was running all over the world. Everywhere but here.

Except right now. Right here next to me. And he wanted me.

  CHAPTER 5

  Noah

I pulled up to her place and got off my bike. I offered her a hand, which she accepted. Damn, that felt really good, and really right.

She said she could be dropped off at her place. Today was someone else’s carpool day, so she’d be getting a free lift to work.

I drove as slow as I
could back to her place. I liked the way she felt behind me on the bike. The way she hugged me tight in the turns. The way our bodies moved together. I could only imagine how being so in sync would translate to the bedroom…or the kitchen table…or the shower…or anywhere.

“I think I’ll be alright from here.” She smiled

“Never know,” I said. “It’s gotta be at least ten yards to the steps. A lot could happen.”

“A lot could happen. A lot is not going to happen.” She paused. “Are you okay? What’s gotten into you?”

Nothing compared to what’s going to get into you.

  “Nothing has gotten into me.”

“It’s like you went into battle, saw your life flash in front of your eyes, and now you want to make a mini you before something else happens.”

“You think I’m desperate to make a baby?” I said with a bit of anger. “You think I’m just looking for a hole and a heartbeat? Is that what you think?” My words were vulgar, but she had to know she offended me. She offended my choice, and my choice was her.

  Still no reply.

I moved in closer. “Do you know what I take with me on every op? Every deployment? What I keep in my chest pocket?”

  Nothing.

“Do you?” I reached into my wallet and handed it to her. “When I don’t have a jacket on I put it carefully back in my wallet, and my wallet’s always in my front pocket, tormenting my desire for you.”

She looked at the picture and I saw a tear stream down her cheek. It was a picture of the two of us. Her brother had taken it once when we were both home on leave. All three of us had spent the weekend together hiking, camping, and fishing. It was one of my fondest memories. We were in a lake standing in our swimsuits. Just before Ben took the shot, I tickled her in the ribs. We were both laughing having a great time. It was my favorite picture of myself ever. Why? Because she was in it. Just the two of us.

And in my mind, her brother taking it kind of signed off on the two of us. It had been a few years back but it felt like yesterday. The memory so clear and vivid in my mind.

I reached down and put my thumb and index finger underneath her chin. I lifted her head gently until her gaze met mine.

“This isn’t some spur of the moment thing. Some fly-by-night wish. This is real and it has been for a long time. Maybe we’ve been apart, but in our thoughts we’ve always been together. Always. I know it and you know it.”

I could see her mouth shake a little and more tears fall. “I don’t want anyone but you. It’s always been you. It always has been, and always will be.”

  She swallowed hard.

“I know this is really sudden, but I’m tired of hiding this. Tired of denying myself, and you. Denying us.”

She just looked at me. “Noah,” she whispered.

“I’m right here. Always have been, even when I wasn’t.”

I leaned in closer. She smelled amazing. Her hair was so soft and beautiful. She was the ultimate woman, and there was nothing that was going to stop me from making her mine. My cock was so hard it hurt.

“Why now? And why so suddenly?”

“It was never the right time. I was off protecting the country. I was in harm’s way. It wouldn’t have been right. But not anymore. Now it’s just me. I can come and go as I please. I don’t have to protect the country from the front lines. I’m ready to protect something else. Us.”

“But you have to go back.”

I knew she wanted the same thing I wanted. Now that she was offering up last minute objections I knew all I had to do was to just tell her the truth and her worries would be gone.

“I don’t have to go back. Not anymore.”

  “What do you mean?”

“I retired. For good. I had to. I couldn’t wait any longer. I had to be with you.”

  “You retired for me?”

  “For us.”

“Oh my, God. I knew you were eligible about now, but I had no idea you’d do it the first moment it was a possibility.”

“I couldn’t stand another second away from you.”

  “This is crazy.”

“Maybe to you, but I’ve always know it was right.”

“But Noah, you’ve never show me anything that said you were interested in that kind of way. I was always just Ben’s little sister.”

“Exactly. And that was a line I wasn’t going to cross.”

“But nothing has changed. He’s still out there. He’s still your best friend.”

“He is still out there, and he is still my best friend. My connection with him is a strong as it always has been, but it’s my connection with you that is out of this world. The most amazing situation is right in front of me. Right here, right now. You know me. I don’t hesitate. When I know what I want I go for it. And I don’t look back. Ever.”

“But this could cause problems with the three of us.”

“When have we ever had a problem? When?”

I could see her thinking. I knew it was only a matter of time, but still I was glad she was going through all the steps now. Let’s get all the objections out of the way. Of course there were none.

  “I guess you’re right.”

“And you know what else I’m right about? Us.”

“How do I know you’re not just horny?”

“Believe me, I’m hornier than I’ve ever been. But I’m only horny for you, girl. I only have eyes for you. Do I want to fuck you? Abso-fucking-lutely! I want to be inside you so bad it’s killing me. But it’s more than just that. It’s more than just the physical. I think about you all the time. Thoughts of you and the things I want to do to you, and with you, consume me. They have for years.”

I leaned in closer. “I haven’t been with a woman in years. No bullshit. I just don’t even notice them. My thoughts are consumed with us. With the moment I’d be able to tell you exactly what I’m telling you now.”

I heard her breath out, as if she’d been holding her breath this whole time. It was followed by an even deeper inhale.

“I’ve jerked off to you in more countries than most people will ever see in their lives. Monaco mansions to Syrian shit holes. I know it sounds disgusting, but it’s the God’s honest truth. I’m sorry. I really am. I should have told you earlier. I should have been honest with you. I regret it more than anything.”

“I regret it too. Not you. Me. Us. I wasn’t honest with myself either. I should have told you how I felt.”

“No more regrets,” I said. “Now we know. And now we grow, together. Two of us. And soon, three of us.” I placed my hand on her stomach. “I know it sounds crazy, I mean we haven’t even been together yet, but I want a child, with you. A child right here,” I said, rubbing my hand in a circular motion over her stomach.

  “So fast, Noah?”

“It’s not fast. We’ve been working up to this for years.”

“This is exactly what I’m concerned about. There’s no going back if we go down this road.”

“That’s the part I like the most. It’s only forward. There is no Plan B. I never needed one and sure don’t need one now.”

  “But what about me?”

“I’ll take care of you, protect you, you and our child.”

  “How exactly?”

“First of all look at what happened already tonight. You saw how quickly I handled that.”

“What about money? I mean I’d have to quit my job, or take time off at the least.”

“Good. Quit. I want you home with our child. The old fashioned way.”

“But what if that’s not what I want?”

“I know you will, but if you decide you don’t then I’ll support your decision to work again. I’ll be backing you one hundred percent.”

She angled her head and inquisitively closed her eye a little. “You sure about that?”

“Very sure. But you won’t need to. I’ll have a pension every month from the Navy, and I’ll work again.”
