  I had considered going full ‘Basic Instinct’ on him, but changed my mind at the last minute. I was as motivated as I’d ever been in my entire life, and I was just sitting in a classroom.

  Luke

  I was ready to stop her after class and tell her exactly that. To tell her why this needed to happen, but then she was gone.

  Someone had come and tapped her on her shoulder and she grabbed her things and left.

  I hope she didn’t have a family emergency or anything bad happened to her or someone close to her. It seemed urgent, so I’d work on outlining my lesson plans for next week and then give her a call so we could meet.   “Come in,” I said after hearing the knock on the door of my personal office.

  The door swung open slightly. There were no footsteps and no sounds other than the creaking of its opening, and the silence that greeted its stop.

  And then she appeared.

  She stood in the doorway, holding something in her hand. Her body was shaking slightly. She had changed clothes. Her fire engine red dress now white, but equally as revealing.

  I stood, towering over her. I looked down at her from inside my cramped office quarters.

  “This is for you,” she said.

  She turned her wrist and extended her arm, handing me a picture. I took it and stared at it. In it I was smiling, a rare occurrence for me, and holding a beer in one hand and high fiving her with the other. It was probably taken from her mother, from a distance. I would guess their upstairs window. It was taken at a distance where we wouldn’t have known. Where we would act naturally. It it was plain to see that the picture didn’t lie. The way she looked at me and the way I looked at her.

  I remember the moment well. We were playing HORSE on her backyard basketball hoop. Me, her, and her father. She had been practicing a lot and had hit a great shot. She turned immediately to me and I naturally congratulated her. I remember that moment as clear as if it were yesterday.

  “It’s my favorite picture of myself,” she said.

  I could feel the meaning in her words. She wasn’t one to exaggerate, always choosing her words carefully.

  “Maybe you should keep it then,” I said.

  “I want you to have it.”

  “Thank you…but why?”

  “Because you gave me that moment.”

  “You were the one who made the shot.”

  “But it meant nothing without someone there to share it with. Someone special.”

  “You made it special.”

  I nodded.

  “He deserved what he got.”

  “He deserved a lot worse.”

  “True,” she said, moving in closer. “And what do you think the hero deserves?�

  “You’re a hero to me. And the only real man I’ve seen since the last time I saw you.”

  “I don’t know what the hero deserves, but I know what the hero wants.”

  “And what does the hero want?”

  Three taps on the doorjamb in quick succession caused me to look up.

  “Mr. Bryant. Oh sorry. Am I interrupting?”

  “Yes,” I said at the same time Zoey said, “No.”

  “I just had some questions about today’s lecture.”

  “Can you come back by later?”

  “I have classes all day, and it’s the time for your office hours. Right now.”

  “I’m with another student now.”

  “It’s okay,” Zoey said. “I can come back later.”

  I exhaled hard. I did have a responsibility to the university to do my job and I don’t think that included fulfilling my sexual desires in the office they provided me. I did have a job to do and this wasn’t the best example of leadership I could be setting.

  “Okay, I’ll call you,” I said. I kept my exterior calm, but my insides were raging. I needed to talk to her, and set everything straight, but I had to do what was right in this situation, no matter how painful to my anatomy, and peace of mind.

  She turned to go and walked past the other student. He looked at me and could easily tell by my expression that it wouldn’t be in his best interests to check her out as she walked away. I took the picture and set it on my desk. It was prominently displayed. The only human thing in my Spartan office.

  Zoey

  As I walked back to my dorm, I wondered why the boys here just didn’t get it, in particular this last one. Had he not understood our body language? Had he not gotten Mr. Bryant’s hints? Maybe that was the problem in and of itself. These were boys I was dealing with, not men. Not men who took the time to evaluate the situation before coming in like a bull in a China shop. I laughed slightly to myself as at the very moment of that thought I passed a student wearing a spring break t-shirt with some slogan about getting drunk on shots of tequila.

  What did I expect? I couldn’t stop giggling. I had thought it would be nice to meet men at college and interact with them as adults. How sorely mistaken I was. Without the parental supervision like we had at high school, where they usually at least live at home and have some sort of authority figure present, here at university they ran wild. They showed their true colors. And Mr. Bryant showed his true colors today. Red, white, and blue. Red like my cheeks when I blushed as he caught me climaxing right then and there in his class.   As soon as I arrived back at my dorm, my phone rang.

  Luke

  As much as I wanted to ask her to come right back to my office, I decided she deserved more. She was a real lady and I would treat her as such. I’d take her on a proper date, where we could discuss what we needed to discuss. If I had called her back to my office, there’s no telling what might have happened. And as hot as it seemed, I didn’t want our first time to be in the cramped quarters of a university faculty office.

  She walked in right at nine. She spotted me immediately and came to my table. I stood and helped her with her chair. She still had on her white dress.

  “Sorry, I didn’t have time to change.”

  “Don’t be sorry. It was the perfect choice. You look amazing.”

  “Thank you, Mr. Bryant.”

  My cock twitched when she spoke my name. “Call me, Luke.”

  “Thank you…Luke.” She giggled.

  “What?”

  “It just…it sounds strange.”

  “My name sounds strange to you?”

  “Not the name itself. Just calling you by your first name.”

  “It’s not what you’re used to?”

  “Can I get you something to drink?”

  I looked up. Sure enough, a university student was our waiter. He had mastered the art of poor timing and not reading non-verbal cues. I reminded myself he was just doing his job, but I was getting angry again. Why was it so hard just to tell Zoey what I wanted to say? It’s not like I was at a loss for words.

  I decided to hold off during dinner. I just focused on catching up with her and enjoying the moment. Not dropping a bomb on her right before our meal.

  She was normally reserved, but tonight she had so much to say. She opened up and had so much energy. She was so full of life. It was incredible to see how much she had changed yet how much she was still the same. Still the genuine, nice girl. The irony wasn’t lost on me that it was her purity that I wanted to savagely take from her. That I needed to take from her. That she wanted me to take from her. I couldn’t wait for dinner to end to get to the main course.

  Zoey

  After dinner, Luke invited me back to his place for a glass of wine. He knew my father allowed me to have a glass or two with dinner once in awhile. He wasn’t trying to get me drunk like the frat boys on campus. He was offering me wine, treating me like an adult. The choice of drink and the words making all the difference. But the real difference was him.

  I had spent all afternoon working through the scenarios.

  How would I tell him I was saving myself for him? What would he say? What would my parents say? Would we even tell my parents?

  There were a lot of questions, but there was only one answer. Him. I would let him take the lead. I wasn’t a pushover, and normally liked to be in control, but with him I knew I was in good hands. Hands I couldn’t wait to have all over my body.

  We entered his flat and he gave me the quick tour. He put on some relaxing music, without words, and offered me a seat on the couch. I head the wine bottle pop, and thought about what else I’d like him to pop tonight.

  He came back in, offered me the glass, and sat down next to me.

  “Cheers,” he said. “To fate bringing us back together.”

  “Cheers,” I said.

  We took a sip and simultaneously sat our wine glasses down on the coffee table.

  His hand came up and touched my cheek. It was sudden, but I knew he was a decisive man.

  “Your skin is so soft,” he said.

  “Thank you.”

  His head leaned in closer to my neck. I felt goose bumps cover my skin. His nose lightly brushed my neck and I felt him inhale my scent, taking me in. Oh my, God. Was this going to happen right now? I’m ready.

  “You smell like a beautiful flower in full bloom,” he said.

  I blushed.

  “You’re a bit shy at times, aren’t you?”

  “Sometimes, around you.”

  “A bit innocent.”

  I’m actually…a lot innocent.”

  “And how do you feel about that?”

  I reached forward and took a sip of my wine. His hand still on my cheek. “I’m ready to not be so innocent anymore.”

  It was like a shot from a cannon.

  His mouth crashed onto mine. He tasted like the huge portion of meat he had devoured just an hour earlier. God, he tasted amazing.

  I could feel his hand move from my cheek and back through my hair. His grip pressing my lips more into his. His fingers against my scalp. Even through my hair I could feel their call
